André Correia, DMD, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Dental Medicine of Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP), and a licensed Dentist and Oral Surgery Specialist by the Portuguese Dental Association (OMD 4422).
He achieved his DMD degree in 2003 in the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the University of Porto (FMDUP). From 2003 till 2004 he got a Postgraduate Diploma in Implants and Prosthodontics in the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Barcelona, Spain. In 2007, he performed an Internship in the Center for Dental Informatics of the University of Pittsburgh, and in 2009 he achieved a PhD Degree in Dental Medicine (Area of Prosthodontics and Occlusion) in FMDUP.
From 2004 until 2015 he was an Invited Lecturer / Assistant Professor, in UCP and FMDUP, teaching several subjects related to Oral Rehabilitation and New Technologies applied to Dentistry, in DMD, MSc and PhD courses.
In 2015, he left FMDUP and was invited to become the Chair of the DMD course in UCP, that he honorably accepted and fulfil until 2018. In 2017 he was recruited as an Assistant Professor, position that he holds until now.
Concerning his research activities, he was an integrated researcher in LAETA from 2009-2016, and since 2017 he is integrated in CIIS-UCP, where he’s the leader of the “Precision Oral Health Platform”.
He is also very active in scientific dental societies. He was Board Member of SPEMD (2008-2018) and currently Fellow and Member of the Iberia Board of the International Team for Implantology (ITI).
