DMD, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP), as well as a Dentist and Specialist in Oral Surgery registered with the Portuguese Dental Association (Ordem dos Médicos Dentistas - OMD, license no. 4422).
In 2003, he completed his degree in Dental Medicine at the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the University of Porto (FMDUP). From 2003 to 2004, he completed a Postgraduate program in Implantology and Oral Prosthesis at the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Barcelona, Spain. In 2007, he did an internship at the Center for Dental Informatics at the University of Pittsburgh, and in 2009, he completed his PhD in Dental Medicine, specializing in Dental Prosthesis and Occlusion, at FMDUP.
From 2004 to 2015, he was an Invited Assistant / Invited Assistant Professor at both UCP and FMDUP, teaching several subjects related to Oral Rehabilitation and New Technologies applied to Dental Medicine across all levels of dental education (Bachelor's, Master's, and PhD).
In 2015, following the end of his contract at FMDUP, he was invited to become the Coordinator of the Integrated Master's in Dental Medicine at UCP, a role he honorably accepted and held until 2018. In 2017, he was recruited as a tenure-track Assistant Professor, and in 2024, he became an Associate Professor.
Regarding research activities, he was an integrated researcher at LAETA from 2009 to 2016. Since 2017, he has been an integrated researcher at CIIS-UCP, where he is responsible for the "Precision Oral Health Platform".
Throughout his career, André Correia has authored numerous scientific publications and has been a frequent speaker, presenting lectures and communications at both national and international scientific events. In his academic activity, he has supervised several Master's and PhD students in Dental Medicine and has served on a wide range of national and international Academic Examination Boards.
He is a member of several scientific societies, most notably SPEMD and SPPED in Portugal. Internationally, he is a member of the ITI (International Team for Implantology), of which he is a Fellow and served as Chairman of the Iberian Section from 2022 to 2024.
