The Postgraduate Course in Endodontics aims to meet the needs of the population visiting the University Dental Clinic for more specialised endodontic treatment.
With a modular structure and a monthly frequency, this postgraduate course has a multidisciplinary team of FMD lecturers, international and national guest lecturers with extensive experience in the field, using the latest materials and technologies: from cone beam computed tomography scans to magnifying loupes and the use of surgical microscopes.
The aim of this course is to provide students with critical analysis skills, theoretical knowledge and reasoning skills for decision-making in the diagnosis, planning and execution of cases by integrating scientific evidence into daily clinical practice.

Note: Academic Services closed for holidays from 11 to 25 August
- Candidates will be selected by interview (20%) and curriculum analysis (80%), according to criteria published in a specific document and publicised on the Faculty's website, in the respective area of the FMD Postgraduate School.
- Classes will be held in modules between September/October 2025 and May 2026 at the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the Portuguese Catholic University in Viseu.
- Classes will be held on Thursdays (2pm to 8pm), Fridays (9am to 8pm) and Saturdays (8.30am to 1.30pm), in a b-learning format (face-to-face and/or online), according to a defined lesson plan. The course will consist of theoretical classes, simulated practice and tutored clinical practice, totalling 210 contact hours, taught in 10 modules, at the end of which the student will obtain 35 ECTS;
- Final approval of the postgraduate course requires attendance at at least 80% of the classes and approval at the various assessment points;
- The Postgraduate Certificate in Endodontics will be issued by the FMD-UCP with the attribution of the respective credits (35 ECTS) to students who have passed the course. The FMD-UCP will issue a Postgraduate Diploma, with 35 ECTS (corresponding to a total of 980 hours of training, of which 210 hours will be face-to-face contact in the classroom, and the remaining 770 hours of autonomous work by the student) to students who have passed the course.
