Prof. Tiago Borges got his DDS degree at the College of Dentistry of the University of Porto, in Portugal. He soon dedicated his dental activity to Oral Surgery and Implant Dentistry doing his studies in the Department of Oral Surgery of the University of Santiago de Compostela, in Spain, and in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department of the University of Illinois, in Chicago. Later, he got his PhD degree from the Surgery Department of the Medical School in Salamanca University, in Spain. He is currently Professor and Chairman of the Department of Oral Surgery and Implant Dentistry of the Catholic University of Portugal, were he lectures since 2006, where also has the pleasure of coordinate the Advanced Programme in Oral Surgery. Prof Borges lectures nationally and internationally in the fields of Implant Dentistry and Oral Surgery and his studies are mainly focused in the clinical outcomes of the esthetic dental implant treatments and the long-term parameters that affect dental implants, an area were he has published widely.
