Rute Patrícia Alves do Rio Pereira de Sousa, Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the Catholic University of Portugal, is currently responsible for the courses in Operative Dentistry III, IV, V and VI. In 2008, she was invited to join the teaching staff of Operative Dentistry at this institution, after returning from Scotland, where she completed a postgraduate course in oral rehabilitation.
Born in Porto, where she completed her degree and PhD in Dentistry at the Faculty of Dentistry of the University of Porto in 2005 and 2018, respectively.
Currently, she practices Dentistry with exclusive practice in Aesthetic Dentistry and Orthodontics, having completed numerous training and complementary postgraduate courses in the scope of these two areas of interest, namely the International Postgraduate Degree in Minimally Invasive Adhesive Dentistry, the Postgraduate Degree in Orthodontics by Fundacion Gnathus and later in Damon system, being an Invisalign provider and Certified Doctor Clear Aligner. With papers presented at congresses and published in national and international journals on these areas. She has also been invited to speak at conferences in the field of Dental Aesthetics and to be advisor and co-supervisor of theses of Integrated Master, mainly in works related to this theme.
