The Curricular Unit (UC) of Information and Communication Systems (SIC) has the ultimate objective of ensuring that students acquire knowledge about existing information and communication systems and technologies, in particular they should be able to discern the fundamental elements of the evolution of systems IT systems analyzed from the dual perspective of hardware and software. In the first component, they must know the main constituents of a personal computer and their evolution. In the second, they must know/recognize the evolutionary process of different software, in particular Operating Systems, as well as the possibilities that derive from them for using programs intended for specific functionalities such as those used in the context of Biomedical Sciences or laboratory support. Students should acquire more in-depth and systematized knowledge about the use of personal productivity tools with a view to their future needs, but also for better performance throughout the training process.
