Cellular Biology aims to provide the student with the knowledge/concepts necessary to understand how the functioning of the cell depends on a complex network of molecules that are located in specific compartments and work in close harmony, establishing specific interaction networks, so that multiple functions can be performed, but in a regulated manner. This knowledge is the basis for the student to interpret the cellular dysfunction underlying the disease, preparing them to understand therapeutic action and diagnosis in future UCs.
Cell Biology will allow you to acquire skills to:
Identify, analyze and describe the biological processes described on a molecular scale, responsible for the transport, synthesis and modification of proteins, communication and control of cellular activity;
Recognize the importance of knowledge at the molecular level so that the mechanisms responsible for the homeostasis of the cell and the organism can be identified.
