Postgraduate programme in Aesthetic Dentistry

Program Description

Dentistris Estética

Dentistry is a medical-dental area with a wide scope as it is linked to other areas such as Preventive Dentistry, Paediatric Dentistry, Endodontics and Oral Rehabilitation.

A large number of professionals use dentistry treatments in their professional routine, which justifies the need to keep up to date.

The Postgraduate Programme in Aesthetic Dentistry at the Faculty of Dental Medicine of Universidade Católica Portuguesa (FMD), in Viseu, will enable Dentists to deepen and update their knowledge, with a view to resolving clinical situations of varying complexity, using the latest technical solutions, materials and instruments.

The course's various topics are organised into modules that are taught by a multidisciplinary team of FMD lecturers, international and national guest lecturers with recognised experience in the field.

Teaching involves lectures, seminars, laboratory activities, workshops and clinical care for patients with different complexities.

Patient care will take place in the UpGrad Postgraduation Studio at the UCP University Dental Clinic. The postgraduate programme will also cover educational and preventive strategies to promote the oral health of the community, associated with the use of minimally invasive techniques, bioactive materials and digital resources.

With the knowledge taught using new methodologies defined in the syllabus, the aim is to create new competences that will enable the student to respond to the demands of today's dentistry.

In order to achieve this goal, clinical classes are planned at the University Dental Clinic, where students will have access to the latest technologies, namely CBCT, surgical microscopes and magnifying glasses, allowing trainees to increase their skills in increasingly complex cases.
