Postgraduate course in advanced topics in paediatric dentistry 2025/2026

Program Description

Paediatric dentistry is the area of dentistry dedicated to the oral health of children, from babies to teenagers, including care during pregnancy. This speciality is becoming more and more relevant globally and is fundamental to promoting the oral health of the population.

In Portugal, the number of dentists specialising in this area is limited compared to other specialities. However, the demand for qualified professionals in child care is growing. It is therefore crucial to provide dentists with up-to-date knowledge and techniques for clinical practice in paediatric dentistry.

The course is organised into lectures, seminars, laboratory activities, workshops and supervised clinical practice, in a b-learning system aimed at the students' best interests. In this way, students will have theoretical lectures, in person or at a distance, theoretical lectures using interactive methodologies, workshops/hands-on and clinical practice with patients from the University Dental Clinic in the Postgraduate Studio (a new space totally dedicated to postgraduate teaching!), according to a lesson plan that will be presented to the students.
