Bio
She obtained her PhD in Biology (2020) from Universität Regensburg (Germany) and is currently an integrated researcher at the Interdisciplinary Health Research Center at the Faculty of Dental Medicine – Viseu, Universidade Católica Portuguesa. She has extensive experience mainly in the fields of Immunology, Genetics, and Epigenetics, as well as in the use of bioinformatics tools (e.g., R programming) for data analysis, including next-generation sequencing (NGS). Her current research interests focus on the identification of molecular mechanisms and the quantification of salivary biomarkers (e.g., genes, proteins, and bacteria) associated with the diagnosis, prognosis, and monitoring of oral and systemic inflammatory diseases. At the Faculty of Dental Medicine of UCP she teaches courses such as Computational Biology, Immunology, Genomics, and Introduction to Scientific Research. She is also involved in the supervision of several students and participates in academic examination committees.
