Completed her PhD in Biology (specialization in Microbiology) in 2022 and her MSc in Cellular and Molecular Biology in 2015 at the University of Aveiro (UA), after obtaining her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from the same institution. During this period, she conducted research in the field of Antimicrobial Photodynamic Therapy (aPDT), focusing on the inactivation of pathogenic and multidrug-resistant microorganisms.

In 2017, she was awarded a PhD fellowship by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), within a project dedicated to water disinfection and decontamination, based on the use of the photodynamic approach for microbial inactivation and the degradation of chemical pollutants.

Between 2022 and 2023, she worked as a Junior Researcher at the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Health (CIIS) of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa (UCP), within the project Digital Technologies and Pedagogical Innovation in Higher Education (INDIG).

Since November 2023, she has been an Invited Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Dental Medicine of UCP and a researcher at CIIS. Since joining this research center, she has participated in ongoing projects within the SalivaTec platform and in collaboration with the Precision Dental Medicine platform, particularly in projects related to Endodontics. She was also a member of the team of the project SMOOT – Salivary biomarkers of bone turnover in response to biomaterials for restorative dentistry: a tool for salivary monitoring (internal CIIS project).
