The Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Health (CIIS) expresses its availability to welcome candidates who wish to apply for the Individual Scientific Employment Stimulus - 5th Edition, financed by the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), from 3rd February to 3rd March 2022.
The development of independent and competitive research projects that are properly aligned with the objectives of CIIS will be welcomed at SalivaTec, a platform of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Health (CIIS) in Viseu, a Research Unit classified as Very Good by the FCT and which produces molecular data (disease mechanisms, biomarkers and therapeutic targets), clinical and quality of life data with translational potential, namely to feed tools based on Artificial Intelligence that allow the generation of new knowledge suitable for the development of solutions at the scale of the individual, family and community.
SalivaTec has excellent conditions to carry out cutting-edge research, with Genetics and Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Microbiology laboratories, as well as a Cell Culture laboratory and access to infrastructure for carrying out Computational Biology. Cohabitation on the UCP campus of Viseu with the platform of Precision Dental Medicine and with the University Dental Clinic of the UCP, provides easier access to clinical samples and the consequent implementation of clinical studies in different areas.
