Molecular Genetics aims to present to the student: i) how genes and genomes are organized at the molecular level, the changes to which this organization is subject and the consequences for the individual and population of the changes undergone and ii) the principles theorists behind the main genomics techniques and how they contributed to the development of Molecular Genetics. Due to the implications for diagnosis and therapy, knowledge of Molecular and Human Genetics is fundamental for the LCB student. At the end of the curricular unit, the student must: understand the rules of heredity and be able to integrate knowledge at a molecular level in application to medicine, including the diagnosis and therapy of genetic-based pathologies; Finally, you must know the evolution and theoretical principles underlying the techniques applied in genomics and how this young science is applied in medicine.
