Applicants with Foreign Secondary Education (EU Nationals)
Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
- Have completed secondary education or at least the 12th grade abroad. In this case, they must obtain official equivalence to the Portuguese secondary education system;
- Fulfill Pre-requisite Group A, as determined by CNAES for the academic year 2025/2026;
- Hold Portuguese or European Union nationality, and not fall under the international student category as defined by:
Decree-Law No. 36/2014 of March 10,
Amended by Decree-Law No. 113/2014 of July 16 and Decree-Law No. 62/2018 of August 6;
- Have achieved a minimum application score of 130 (on a scale of 0 to 200);
- Have completed final exams in terminal subjects from their foreign secondary education curriculum, equivalent to Portuguese entrance exam subjects. The following combinations are accepted:
(02) Biology and Geology and (07) Physics and Chemistry or
(02) Biology and Geology and (19) Mathematics A
Minimum score for each entrance exam: 95 (on a scale of 0–200)
The required entrance exams are considered equivalent to the corresponding Portuguese national exams in accordance to the Deliberation No. 677/2024.
Note: Final national exams are valid as entrance exams in the year they are taken and for the four subsequent years, in accordance with Legal Opinion 4/2022 (Diário da República, 2nd Series, July 12, 2022).
Application Score Calculation
· 50% – Final secondary school grade
· 50% – Entrance exam scores (25% from each subject)
Required Documents
- Copy of a valid Identification Document (ID card or passport)
- Diploma from the foreign secondary school with:
- Final grade
- Individual exam results
- Certificate of Equivalence to Portuguese secondary education
- Proof of having satisfied Pre-requisite Group A
[1] Documents issued outside Portugal must be:
· Legalized by the Portuguese diplomatic or consular authority in the country of origin,
· Or bear the Hague Apostille,
· Unless issued in the UK, EU, EEA, or EFTA countries.
If documents are in a language other than Spanish, English, French, or Italian, they must be accompanied by a certified translation according to Portuguese notarial law.
