The University Dental Clinic of the Faculty of Dental Medicine of the Portuguese Catholic University is an infrastructure dedicated to Teaching, Service Provision and Research.
The provision of services to the community, as the main mission of the University Dental Clinic, is offered at the level of the Integrated Master's Degree in Dental Medicine and within the various postgraduate courses in specialized areas such as Periodontology, Oral Surgery, Oral Rehabilitation, Endodontics and Pediatric Dentistry.
The University Dental Clinic is part of the network of infrastructures of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Health (CIIS), hosting clinical research projects in Dentistry and Biomedicine, benefiting from close collaboration with other CIIS infrastructures such as SalivaTec (dedicated to developing strategies for saliva diagnosis) and CellTec which hosts research on cell regeneration and new solutions for treatment in Dentistry.
The University Dental Clinic has included within the scope of Social Responsibility the promotion of Oral Health and Health literacy, hosting projects providing medical-dental services to communities with various weaknesses in close collaboration with the municipality of Viseu.
