Diana Sousa concluiu a Licenciatura pré-Bolonha em Bioquímica (CESPU, 2009), o Mestrado em Genética Molecular (UM, 2011) e o Doutoramento em Ciências Farmacêuticas (FFUP, 2019). Em 2009, iniciou a sua atividade científica no Laboratório de Biologia Celular e Molecular da FMUP. Em 2011, entrou para o IPATIMUP onde iniciou os seus estudos na área da oncobiologia. Da sua atividade resultaram 24 artigos, destacando-se o seu trabalho realizado em colaboração com o CIC-bioGUNE (Bilbao) sobre o estudo dos mecanismos de biogénese e de libertação de vesículas extracelulares na resistência aos fármacos anti-neoplásicos. Desde 2021, está focada no estudo de biópsias liquidas não invasivas para o diagnóstico precoce do carcinoma adrenocortical, inicialmente no i3S e atualmente na UMIB-ICBAS. Depois de concluir o doutoramento iniciou a sua atividade na docência. Foi Professora Auxiliar Convidada na FFUP, na Escola Superior de Saúde Santa Maria-Porto e atualmente pertence ao corpo docente da FMD-UCP Viseu.

 

Diana Sousa completed the Degree in Biochemistry (CESPU, 2009), Master in Molecular Genetics (UM, 2011) and PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (FFUP, 2019). In 2009, she began her scientific activity at the Cellular and Molecular Biology Laboratory at FMUP. In 2011, she joined IPATIMUP where she began her studies in oncobiology. From her activity, 24 papers were published, highlighting her work performed in collaboration with CIC-bioGUNE (Bilbao) on the study of the mechanisms of biogenesis and release of extracellular vesicles in cancer drug resistance context. Since 2021, she has been focused on the study of non-invasive liquid biopsies for the early diagnosis of adrenocortical carcinoma, initially at i3S and currently at UMIB-ICBAS. After completing her PhD, she initiated teaching activity. She was Invited Professor at FFUP, at the Higher School of Health Santa Maria-Porto and currently belongs to the teaching staff at FMD-UCP Viseu.
