The labour market points to the growing need for professionals with multidisciplinary training in Biomedicine, Management (of people and institutions) and in Health Data (strategies for organisation, integration and analysis). It is in this context that the MSc has been set up as training in Biomedicine, organised into two branches of knowledge: Management and Computing, constituting a unique and differentiated offer in the national context.
The Master aims to prepare professionals to solve current problems in a real context and, in this sense, participate in the Master's training plan representatives of entities providing services in Health, the business fabric namely the pharmaceutical industry, diagnostic companies and companies that make up the computing cluster in Viseu.
As a teaching/learning method, the Master's Degree uses Problem/Case Based Learning strategies and the development of soft skills (critical analysis, autonomy, group work, consultation of reliable information, integration, analysis, communication and discussion of information), skills recognised as essential for professional success.
The Master's Degree in Applied Biomedicine is structured for students who have completed the 1st cycle of studies and whose academic background shows considerable preparation in scientific disciplines related to Biomedicine. Candidates are therefore considered to have graduated in Biomedical Sciences, Biochemistry, Molecular and Cellular Biology, Genetics, Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Biological Engineering or related areas.
The Master's programme is open to both Portuguese and foreign candidates and can therefore be taught in Portuguese or English.
